DON BOSCO started its work in India in 1906. Don Bosco Network spread over more than 145 countries providing various services to young people around the world. The network has secondary schools, senior secondary schools, colleges, formal and informal technical institutions, agricultural schools, social work center’s, mass media production center’s, publication houses, Special Schools, Vocational Centre’s and Residential homes rehabilitation center’s for different categories of Children and Young at Risk – Children in the slums and Children on the streets, Child Labourers, Substance Abuses, Children with Special needs or at risk etc. In India it is spread over more than 22 states with hundreds of educational, technical and social work centers.

The Salesian Brothers Society of Delhi (Northern India) is the Development Organization of the Salesian Province of Delhi. It promotes the development activities of NGOs, The Salesian Brothers Society of Delhi partners in Delhi partners in Delhi and NCR. It is part of an international network of Don Bosco organizations working in over 130 countries across the globe. The Salesian Brothers Society of Delhi has been catering to street children in Delhi since 1997 in the name of Don Bosco Ashalayam at Palam village, New Delhi.

 Don Bosco Ashalayam is a unit of the Salesian Brothers Society, North India. Ashalayam has been catering to underprivileged children who need care and protection. Ashalayam has been striving round the clock to mainstream these children and empower them with the overall formation with the specific purpose of educating and empowering them with dignity for a better tomorrow. The only motive of the organization is to create an environment of good and honest citizens of society.

Our Projects

Don Bosco Ashalayam is committed to providing a varied and engaging schedule for all children, with the goal of offering a comprehensive program that includes fulfilling and stimulating activities, helping equip the children with vital skills for a rich social and cultural experience.

Children's Home

Child Care Institution
Don Bosco Ashalayam a Child Care Institute (CCI) is a Home for Children. Here they live, study, play, eat, sleep and make their lives. We provide them with food, shelter, clothes, bed, study materials, counselling and we offer them admission in the schools, along with uniforms, books, stationery and tuitions. We have a total capacity of 120 Children in Don Bosco Ashalayam.

Aftercare

Don Bosco Ashalayam is a dedicated child care institute in Palam Village, New Delhi, providing crucial aftercare services for children aged 6 to 18 years. Their unwavering commitment to these vulnerable youngsters extends beyond their formative years, offering support even after they turn 18. This aftercare program aims to equip these young adults with essential life skills, education, and vocational training, ensuring a smoother transition into independent adulthood. Don Bosco Ashalayam's holistic approach not only ensures that these youngsters have a safe and nurturing environment but also empowers them with the tools to break free from the cycle of poverty, opening doors to a brighter future.

6 NFE Centres

We have six Non-Formal Education Centres, working towards the betterment of the society in which we provide basic education and tuition classes to all the students living in our neighborhood whose parents are financially unable to send them for tuition classes or Formal Education. The six centers namely are (i) Ashakilkari (Palam 1), (ii) Asha Ummeed (Palam 2), (iii) Ashadeep (Bindapur), (iv) Ashajeevan (Ambedkar Place), (v) Ashasuman (Ramprastha), (iv) Ashajyoti (Anand Vihar Railway Colony). It is for the Children of the Slums who are in real need of our help.

Migrant Desk "PRAVASI"

We serve almost 30 areas in Delhi in which we ensure that the migrants who are staying on the streets in different places get the basic facilities in which we include food, proper documentation & Health cards, medicines and health facilities to all the migrants.

Past Pupils

Children having completed age of 18 are sent for skill training, placed on jobs and they begin to live outside. They continue to be a part of Ashalayam family. They automatically join the past pupils group

Neighbourhood Ministry

We ensure that the people living around us should not struggle for any basic necessities. We ensure that their children get proper education, the family gets proper food, Clothing and whatever we can offer them to make their life easier and better.

Domestic Workers

Don Bosco Ashalayam extends its compassionate support to domestic workers who migrate to Delhi from other regions. Recognizing the challenges they face, the institute works to provide these individuals with essential services, including education, vocational training, and a safe environment. Their mission is to empower domestic workers for a better quality of life while they work in Delhi.

Homelink Network

YaR (Young at Risk) is a remarkable initiative operating within the INN province, Delhi Hub, focusing on the welfare of vulnerable young children. Their dedicated efforts are geared towards abandoned, orphaned, child laborers, street beggars, and rag pickers, among others. By providing these children with crucial support, education, and a safe haven, YaR aims to create a brighter and more secure future for those who need it the most.

Computer Classes

Don Bosco Ashalayam, a haven for children in need of care and protection, goes above and beyond in their mission to empower underprivileged children. They operate tuition centers designed to provide quality education and support to those who might not have access otherwise. These centers serve as beacons of hope, equipping disadvantaged children with essential knowledge and skills, breaking the cycle of poverty, and offering a brighter future. Don Bosco Ashalayam's commitment to education for all reflects their dedication to nurturing young minds and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive.
